You've just arrived to the event and are excited to entire the immersive world of Chalameria. What happens next?
When you arrive to the event:
Our site opens at 5:00 PM for players to arrive. The first thing you’ll want to do is head to your cabin or bedding space. We usually send out billeting information about a week before the event. Over time, most players find a space they like and stick with it from event to event. However, it’s still important to check the billeting form, especially since our site cap is 130 boots on the ground. As things fill up, people may be moved around to accommodate things such as partners or limited mobility.
Our primary campsite is Indian Springs Camp Site in Flovilla, GA. The restrooms are communal and mixed-gender, so we ask everyone to be respectful and mindful of the site’s limitations.
Once you arrive at your cabin, set up your bed and stow away your gear in either a wall locker or a container under your bed. Double-check your gear, and if you forgot anything, now is a good time to head into town for supplies. You will also want to make note of any traps, protections, or guardians you have for your location on your cabin notes. When you feel ready to play, gear up in your costume, grab a small sampling of packets, your weapons, and head to logistics.
At logistics, your gear, packets, and weapons will be checked for safety, and you’ll make any last-minute changes to your logistics. You’ll also receive your character card and battle board. Logistics is open from 6 PM to 10 PM, though this might change based on the number of participants and their arrival times.
From there, it’s soft RP until we start PC talk, also known as Opening Ceremonies, which typically takes place around 10ish. During the soft RP, we offer food to those on the meal plan, so feel free to grab a plate. Take this time to meet and greet other players so you can connect with a few folks before the game kicks off.
Opening Ceremonies will set the stage for the weekend, outlining what’s going to happen and introducing you to the marshals and our med team. We’ll also clarify any special rules or changes we’re implementing for the weekend. This is your opportunity to get all the information you need for a smooth event. Once we wrap up Opening Ceremonies, the adventure begins in full—so be ready to jump into the action and immerse yourself in the world we’ve created together!
Off on your first adventure!
Once Opening Ceremonies has concluded, all new players and new non-player characters will report to the New Player Module. This is an out-of-game safety check and an introduction to the world of Alliance LARP combat. You’ll start by familiarizing yourself with common taglines and calls, and then do a quick warm-up with weapons.
Afterward, you’ll engage in your first module, which gives you a reason to be at the outpost and an opportunity to connect with other new players. During this time, you can introduce yourself, compare backstories, and make plans to get involved. You might encounter a bit of danger on the road into Cerenys, an encounter, and, if luck is on your side, maybe even a little treasure.
Along the way, you’ll be welcomed by the Welcome Club and offered advice and information from a few veteran players to help you settle in and navigate your first event. Upon entering the tavern, the real fun begins as you find yourself immersed in the chaos—making allies, trading stories, and uncovering lore.
This is a live-action game, so interacting with your fellow players is essential. But that's part of the adventure! Your journey through Chalameria will come alive through the stories you create with others, making every conversation, encounter, and discovery a part of the shared experience.
Hints and Clues to make your first event special:
Your voice matters. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or get clarifications from other players. You’ve just walked into town, and discovering the lore and history of the community is a fantastic way to start.
Take a moment to look around. The walls and decorations of the tavern contain important information. We post the effects chart from the rules book along with so much more: current stories, rumors, a schedule of when the Orders are meeting, and even a list of job offerings. Get familiar with how we post this information and take notes—you’ll never know when something might come in handy!
When an NPC arrives, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself. Feel free to ask questions, strike up a conversation, and make acquaintances. LARPing can feel intimidating at first, but once you break the ice, it only gets better.
Don’t be afraid to develop a quirk or a unique personality trait. Lean into it—this will help your character stand out, and it’ll make others eager to adventure with you.
And when modules happen, don’t let others say it’s only for specific people. Ask questions, discover how you can join in, and find ways to participate. Every opportunity is a chance to shape the story!
